We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Development Manager to assist with the set up of our new subsidiary for our fast growing UK company. As part of our ongoing growth plan, we are now expanding into a new office in Cape Town, South Africa and this position will be critical to its success.

Cerillion is a leading provider of billing, charging and customer management systems with more than 20 years’ experience delivering its solutions across a range of industries including the telecommunications, finance, utilities, and transport sectors.

This position will be vital to the team’s growth and leadership, and as such will provide someone with a chance to play a key role in its success and form an integral part of our wider well-established development teams in the UK and India.

What you’ll do as part of this role:

  • Lead a team of software developers in the creation of high-quality software within agreed project deadlines.
  • Build and promote a positive working environment in your team as well as other business areas you will engage with.
  • Work with the development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions.
  • Design client-side and server-side architecture.
  • Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design.
  • Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications.
  • Write effective APIs.
  • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software.
  • Create security and data protection settings.
  • Understand strength and weaknesses of your team members.
  • Ever curious about how ideas are brought to life and how they work.
  • Passionate about enterprise product development, scalability, and other aspects to make an impact.
  • You have opinions about programming languages and experience building enterprise applications.
What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Team management experience and in particular support junior developers
  • Ideas about how we can successfully grow the new team
  • Front-end technology: Expertise in front-end technologies of frameworks like ASP.NET or Google Web Toolkit.
  • Development languages: Knowledge of server-side programming languages including C# and Java.
  • Understanding of software development life cycle, Software Design, and development experience
