Earlier this year, Cerillion commenced sponsorship of 16 year old Reagan Dee, an up and coming athlete from the Isle of Man. As a very promising high jumper, 2011 is a big year for Reagan with the Commonwealth Youth Games set to take place in her home town of
Douglas during September.
Cerillion has very strong links with the Isle of Man through more than 10 years of close co-operation with Manx Telecom, so when Reagan was looking for sponsorship to help her with the considerable costs of travel and training expenses, we were delighted to be able to offer our support.
So far this season, Reagan has won the Lancashire county championship, and went on to set a new Isle of Man all age high jump record of 1.70m when winning a Northern League event in Salford, Greater Manchester. Then at the end of June, Reagan produced a stunning performance to out-jump the competition by a clear 6cm and take gold medal in the 2011 NatWest Island Games
held in the Isle of Wight.
The Isle of Man has produced some very successful international sportsmen and women over the years, particularly in motorsport and cycling, including Mark Cavendish, current star of the Tour de France and one of the favourites for an Olympic gold next year. Through our sponsorship of Reagan Dee, we are thrilled to be helping one of the next generation of Manx athletes to achieve her sporting ambitions and we wish her the very best of luck for the Commonwealth Youth Games next month.
