Cerillion Technologies To Implement New Billing System For Malta’s PTT

London, 14th September 2001 – Convergent CRM, Billing and Carrier Management specialist, Cerillion Technologies, has signed a contract with Maltacom for the implementation of a new CRM and Billing system.

The Cerillion CRM and Event Based Billing system will be deployed to support Maltacom’s fixed wire subscribers. It is also being considered for use in Maltacom’s interactive television project and to improve the facilities offered by some of Maltacom’s subsidiary companies.

Said Maltacom Chairman, Mr Maurice Zarb Adami: “The investment will give us the flexibility that we need to continue to meet our customers’ requirements with speed and efficiency.” Mr Zarb Adami also commented that the system would lead to improved customer service, more products and services, discount schemes, additional payment methods and web based services.
 
Louis Hall, Managing Director, Cerillion Technologies, commented: “Although Malta is a relatively small country, it has a sophisticated telecom infrastructure and a demanding customer base.  Our products advanced tariffing and discounting features will help Maltacom to stay ahead in an increasingly competitive market. Cerillion was selected following the completion of  an intensive and highly professional selection and due diligence process by Maltacom.”
 
The contract was pursued by a number of the leading billing vendors in the world market today.

Stephen Muscat, the CEO of Maltacom, said that within one month of the publication of a public call for the billing and customer care system, Maltacom had received 11 offers from interested vendors. It took two months to carry out the adjudicating process to select the successful firm. Mr Muscat also commented that the modern billing process was far more complex than just ensuring that customers paid for their services.   The data gained from the system would be used in customer relationship management and marketing applications.
