Job Description

Cerillion is a leading provider of billing, charging and customer management systems with more than 25 years’ experience delivering its solutions to the telecoms sector.

We are looking for a new Head of Pre-Sales, to replacing a long-standing colleague, who is retiring.

Cerillion’s Head of Pre-Sales currently holds a number of responsibilities and daily activities:

Line management of the Pre-Sales team of six people

  • The current Pre-Sales team of six is distributed across the UK, Poland, France, and the USA. Currently, the Head of Pre-Sales is the line manager for all resources.

Bid management

  • Accountable for ensuring that all deliverables (documents, demos, etc) for tenders are met and resourced appropriately
  • Effectively a PM role ensuring of the successful delivery of tender responses; allocation of resources to tasks, dependency & deadline management, liaising with Opportunity Owner etc
  • Interaction with colleagues outside Sales (Legal, Commercial, Delivery, Support etc) on whom we’ll have dependencies for providing complete responses.

RFP response work

  • We are not a large team, and as such, the Head Of Pre-Sales is often involved in the preparation of the responses, particularly on large bids, plus compliance responses, and proposal creation.

We are a growing company and a growing team, and the role is expected to evolve from its current shape, reflecting our increasing size and also the strengths of the successful candidate. You will work very closely with the Business Development Director in the shaping of that team structure and organisation.

Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have 10+ years in telecoms BSS/OSS, ideally in Pre-Sales and possibly with line management experience. Other previous roles within BSS/OSS vendors that could be relevant include; Project Management, Business Analyst, and Solution Architect.

Experience across the full BSS/OSS lifecycle is very useful (R&D, Development, Sales, Delivery, Support). They will be personable, confident, self-sufficient, and they should like cats.

Travel is not necessarily involved for the role, but as a team we do travel a lot.

 

Education, qualifications & special training

  • Educated to graduate level and/or beyond.

 

Technical / Professional

Essential Desirable
  • MS Office, advanced level (Excel, Word & PowerPoint specifically)
  • Domain expertise (BSS/OSS)
  • Visio or similar
  • TM Forum certification and experience
  • Cloud hyperscaler certification
  • Project / Bid Management
  • Presales (bids, demos, process etc.)
